Just My Scattered Thoughts 😉

The wind and sky have been my
Friends from childhood days and
Will be so till the very end
Whenever I’m feeling down
They give me strength, and
I always share my sorrows
And all my joy with them
It’s like a secret pact we’d made
That will always hold true
Be it for good or for bad
My love for flying things
Had always been true, but
Then someone came and left
A face, his very identity, and
Mixed it up with the wind and sky
My only solace since the longest time
Gone away with that friend of mine

Housewives

There I was sitting alone, my mind wandering, when I came upon this question – what’s the real meaning of a housewife? An ordinary housewife.. I’ve often heard that the two words go together. I wonder why. Why do some women choose to become housewives when they can live wonderful lives of their own without worrying about others. Why did I? Maybe due to the circumstances at the time, or maybe due to youthful naivety. But once I did it, I did it with understanding, care and love. By nature, I can’t do anything half-heartedly.

From my experience, allow me to enlighten you about this ‘housewife’. She wakes up before anyone else does and sleeps only after everyone has. She fulfills all the wishes of all her family members, rather like a genie, and often even without them having to ask, with a smile on her face. She takes care of the house, and makes it a home; safe and secure. Always there to cater to any needs, she even handles all the tasks and chores around the house. But that’s no biggie, is it? It is. In this materialistic world, if someone willingly lavishes their love and time on you, seeking no reward but your happiness, respect it! Working any job, you’re sure to get a salary at the end of the month, appreciation for your good work, promotions with recognition, and don’t forget – retirement money! Well, listen to this – being a housewife gives you nothing! And there’s always those people who are idiotic enough to ask you just what you’re always so busy with. ‘After all, it’s not like you’re doing anything, eh?’ Seriously, let’s change some things around here.

I personally prefer the term ‘homemaker’ over ‘housewife’, because that’s closer to summing up what we do. Homemakers work day in, day out, to make their homes. We do get paid in a way, with the beautiful smiles of our children, getting to see them grow a little everyday, with their tight hugs, with the faith in their eyes, showing that they know you’re there for them, always. These are a few of those moments which can’t be bought for any price. Cheer up,  my fellow homemakers! Take a look at all your beauty and selflessness, and feel proud of who you are. Ciao, and love to all! 🙂 🙂

Be Yourself : Enjoy Life

An old post 🙂 🙂

Just My Scattered Thoughts 😉

Can’t we be what we are? I wonder, because I’m sure being yourself is much easier than pretending to be what others expect you to be. Maybe, being yourself is not always rewarding. It could be that you won’t be loved by everyone. You might not have all that many friends. However, whoever stays with you regardless, is definitely someone who truly cares for you, and will always be there for you. Each of us are connected in one way or another, but we hardly care for this. Maybe, the reason for this is that most of

us are too busy pretending, to bother with such trivialities. One can say we are least interested in knowing each other as humans. Instead, our worldly roles take importance. We see people as and how they are related to us. For example, take your mother. For some kids, It’s quite tough to relate her…

Today, while I was going through my Facebook page, I saw that someone had posted something along the lines of – ‘teenage kids think that their parents don’t get them.’ I think not getting along is a bit of a global problem. When our children are younger, they pretty much always depend on us. I guess that’s why we develop this habit of solving all their problems and taking decisions for them, thinking it’s because kids need to know that we’re always there for them.
Growing up is difficult, and often rather confusing. We parents were also teenagers once. But our time was different. The times have changed now.
When children are younger they need love, yes, but we should respect their individuality from day one. As they grow older, we should give them a little space and listen to their views. Yes, we should help them decide, but…

Side effects of arranged marriage ;) ;)

😉 An old post :p

Just My Scattered Thoughts 😉

BbbueVrCUAA-gpl (1) You must be thinking why I’m stating those side effects. Firstly, let me tell you what this
arranged marriage means; It starts with the parents looking for a bride or groom for their child, whom they believe is suitable for them. Just like they had once selected their child’s school, collage, and attire.
Well, you only have to bear with schools and colleges for a fixed period, and you can always get rid of your
cloths once you’re tired of them. But you can’t throw away a decision that your whole life depends
on. But you simply can’t beat the parents’ enthusiasm, can you? Anyway, the parents probably do everything out of love….or maybe for the society. I have absolutely no idea.
There, the parents have done their duty. Now, two strangers meet for the first time. Get the irony? All your life, you’re told to not talk to strangers and – BOOM! – you’re alone with one. Now, the normal way to start…

Evernote RTE

Don’t laugh out loud
Don’t smile so much
Don’t keep talking
Don’t cry, oh and –
Don’t grin so wide either
Sit still, cross legged
Be good, don’t react
Your wishes matter?
Well, hell! – who said that?!
Comprehend
Your looks are important
but dear, for others
Your duty is important
but again, for others
You had better seem happy
and credit others for it
You know what I mean, right?
You go girl! Now you’re
ready for the scene!

Just My Scattered Thoughts 😉

scan0004All of us love our childhood. We all miss those carefree days. People often talk about how they wish they could relive those days. Why is it so? We all know that life is like a flowing river that moves forward without stopping. Though we can carry our memories on with us, we can never stop the flow. Have we ever questioned ourselves about why we miss those innocent days- the days when we weren’t doctors or journalists or office workers? The days when we didn’t own a house, have a bank account or a car? So
what is it that we do miss- our innocence? That time when, if hurt we’d cry, when happy we’d laugh and when angry we’d say so. Doesn’t it feel that growing up taught us how to pretend? Rarely do we show our real emotions. I think this innocent and carefree attitude is something…

Time

Early evening
There I am
watching magpies
return home
In that fading afterglow
comes an unexpected guest
standing, smiling
before my eyes
telling me he has come for me
and that my time is up
Astonished, I say,
‘But there’s still so much
left for me to do! ‘
‘Even now?’ he asks, ‘How?’
‘. . . I was busy’ I stammer.
‘Doing what?’ he inquires.
‘Living my life!’ I reply.
Amused, he smiles,
‘Then you’re done now, aren’t you?’
I shake my head. ‘No! I’ve lived
fulfilling my duties all along,
saving everything else for later!’
The bonds of society
were hence my excuse
All I’d done was follow the rules
Curious, he asks me
what I still wished to do
Mind racing, I speak
of days spent in solitude
by a river, amidst nature,
skydiving to taste the wind
gazing into my lovers eyes
on the sparkling shores,
counting stars at leisure,
and so, so much more!
I see pity in his eyes
as he tells me of his sorrow
for humans never learn
to really live while they can,
And he has to take away
other souls like mine
incomplete….

Lonely

Sharing an old post 🙂

Just My Scattered Thoughts 😉

Most of the time
my heart behaves
like a raging ocean
I sit by the shore
collecting reminiscences
that make me smile
but also create aches..
Today washed ashore
– a unique pearl
I was awestruck
by its beauty –
remembrance
of someone
once so dear to me
but now, lost contact
the way life leads on
it feels nice, comforting
knowing that you were once
loved by someone special
who loved you
for who you are
it leaves a lovely feeling
but at the same time
creates a void..
now it shall remain there
this wave will never wash away
